Classes
The Gordon Bennett Classic Road Festival is open to all vintage, veteran and classic cars, motorcycles and commercials registered prior to 1980.
Events
All events are non-competitive.
Day 1 – Friday, 4th June, 2010
Civic Reception in the County Hall, Portlaoise at 7.30 p.m.
Day 2 – Saturday, 5th June, 2010
Laois Heritage Run
There will be a run covering the Laois Heritage Trail on this day. Assembly at Treacy’s, The Heath, Portlaoise at 10.30 a.m. and rally will commence no later than 11.30 a.m. Gala Dinner and Dancing at 8.00 p.m. in The Gandon Inn.
We will also be taking part in the Rose of Tralee Parade.
Day 3 – Sunday, 6th June, 2010
Gordon Bennett Route
This day will involve cars assembling at Treacy’s, The Heath, Portlaoise and giving the opportunity to drive the original Gordon Bennett Route. The run is 104 miles with an optional run of 74 miles and will start at intervals between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. There will be a number of stops and refreshments en route. Run ends at The Gandon Inn for Presentation of Plaques and entertainment.
Day 4 – Monday, 7th June, 2010
Participants will have the opportunity to take part in The Gandon Leisure Run starting from Treacy’s, The Heath at 11 a.m.
Entry Fee is €30.00 (£25 stg.) and covers the four days. All participants will receive a commemorative plaque of the rally.
