This fun run takes place over the June Bank Holiday with the midland County of Laois in Ireland as the event base. Also covering other Counties including Carlow and Kildare, all three of which were chosen for the original 1903 race. Your booking will be added to the cart. Each vehicle entered must complete an individual entry form. If you wish to meet the other participants in a relaxed casual evening location, you may make a booking for the Gala Dinner in the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise on Sunday 31st May of June at 8.00pm. Select options on the entry form box for “Gala Tickets” and click “Add to Basket”. Your booking will be added to the cart. This will also be added to your basket and you can proceed to payment.

The Gordon Bennett Classic Road Run is open to all vintage, veteran and classic cars, motorcycles
and commercials registered prior to 1991.
Entry is at the committee’s discretion and all events are non-competitive.
The Run – A journey through Counties Carlow, Kildare and Laois
Let the Gordon Bennett Route take you on an historic journey across spectacular Irish countryside
and into the picturesque towns and villages of counties Kildare, Carlow and Laois in the heart of
Ireland. While the famous Gordon Bennett route was raced by the world’s greatest daredevils at
record-breaking speeds in 1903, we suggest you set yourself a much easier pace. Relax, get your
motor running and follow gently in the footsteps of the motoring pioneers taking time to enjoy many
of Ireland’s best-loved visitor attractions and breathtaking scenery along this historic car race route
that roared across the 166km (104 mile) route.
Day 1– Friday 4th of June 2021

Day 2– Saturday 5th of June 2021
Assembly at Treacy’s, The Heath, Portlaoise at 10:30 –
for the run through Laois, Kildare and Carlow
countryside to Duckett’s Grove in Co Carlow
returning to the Gandon Inn for the Drivers Dinner.
Day 3– Sunday 6th of June 2021
Gordon Bennett Route, and a celebration of this
great historical event
We want to see you in ‘tweed’ today or in costume
matching the period of your car…. it is not full fancy
dress; a hat or scarf will suffice. But if you want to go
the whole way please don’t let us stop you. This is
also the evening for the Gala Dinner to be held at
The Midlands Park Hotel in the heart of Portlaoise.

After sadly missing The Gordon Bennett Irish Classic Car Run in 2020 next years will be even more
popular than ever and getting there with your car is made easier with the accommodation and
ferry package from Irish Ferries.
Sail from Holyhead to Dublin on the Irish Ferries’ Ulysses, the largest car ferry in the world, or opt for
their fast-ferry, Dublin Swift. Alternatively sail from Pembroke to Rosslare on the Isle of Inishmore.
Sailing Times: Ulysses – Cruise Ferry departs Holyhead daily at 02:40 hrs & 14:10 hrs and Dublin at
08:05 hrs & 20:55 hrs [crossing time 3hrs 15 mins] with the Dublin Swift leaving Holyhead at 10:40 hrs &
16:45 hrs and Dublin at 07:30 hrs and 13:50 hrs [crossing time 2hrs].
Isle of Inishmore Cruise Ferry
departs Pembroke at 02:45hrs and 14:45hrs and Rosslare 08:45hrs & 20:45hrs [crossing time 3hrs 46
Ferry Supplements per car per single journey:
Dublin Swift £37 Sunday – Friday and

Prices below includes 4 nights ensuite accommodation sharing twin/double room with Irish breakfast
and return car cruise ferry crossing. Entry Fee for the Car Run, Gala Dinner and any additional
