The 2023 Gordon Bennet Classic Itinerary

Please take note that all events, timings, numbers and evening meals are subject to Irish governmental COVID restrictions and requirements, and the agenda can change at any time to meet these requirements.

Friday 2nd June

Registration and Introductions from 6pm onwards Portlaoise college light finger food and refreshments will be served.

Saturday 3rd June

We Depart Treacys the Heath at a11am for our Historic run route to Abbeyleix House + Farm in Co Laois where we are invited to park up in the grounds of this privately owned house built c1776 and stands on 1200 acres. Access includes woodlands and Gardens ( not the house). There will be food and craft stalls and paddocks with horses,ponies and alpacas. The highlight weather permitting will be a display of airplanes and an Air Display. Following on from here we drive to The Thatch Pub in Killenard for the drivers Dinner. We encourage fancy dress or dress of the period of your car.

Sunday 4th June

We depart Treacys the Heath at 11am and we retrace The gordon Bennett route from 1903 with a historic stop at The Moat of Ardscull, followed by festivities held firstly at Ballitore Quaker village for food/crafts and entertainment then onto Kildare Town where we join Cill Dara Car club for their annual vintage and classic car day. The evening entertainment is the Gala Dinner held in the Midlands Park Hotel. We encourage fancy dress or dress of the period of your car.

Monday 5th June

We depart Treacys the Heath at 11am for our leisure run. We arrive at Monestervin in Co Kildare for a fun packed day of music/crafts/food and entertainment.. This proved to be a wonderful day in 2022 and we look forward to our visit again in 2023. From here we take a leisurely drive back to Treacys the Heath for our finale BBQ with music and craic.
