Schedule of Events
The Gordon Bennett Classic Road Run is open to all vintage, veteran and classic cars, motorcycles and commercials registered prior to 1993. Entry is at the committees discretion.
Events– All events are non-competitive.
Day 1 – Friday 29th May 2026
Registration and Launch Night at Laois County Council Civic Hall and Chambers from 6pm . Introductions and speeches and guest speakers. Followed by finger food and refreshments.
Registration can also be done on each of the event days if you cannot make the Friday night.
This is a private event for registered participants only.

Day 2 – Saturday 30th May 2026
Departing our HQ at Treacys the Heath from 11am after our drivers briefing we wind our way down through Laois and Kildare countryside our stop at our day’s entertainment at a private collection of historic and classic cars of Brian King at Grangecon Stud Farm. Here we will enjoy an open air BBQ lunch* and other entertainment. Take time to explore the private museum and Gardens.Depart at your leisure for the evening.
*Entry fee and lunch to the Stud Farm and museum is included for the driver, but additional passengers can be added in the booking menu.

Day 3 – Sunday 31st May 2026
Get out the tweeds and or fancy dress on, we encourage either, fancy dress suitable to the period of your car is most welcome.
Again departing Treacys the Heath at 11am we retrace the 1903 Gordon Bennett Race with stops enroute. More details to follow.
The evening is rounded off with our Gala Night at the Midlands Park Hotel, for food,music and spot prizes and craic, this is a relaxed evening and is not black tie so don’t be shy, again we encourage fancy dress or your tweeds in spirit of the event. Many of our repeat guests see this as the highlight of the weekend.
Day 4 – Monday 1st June 2026
Dust yourself off for our 11am departure from Treacys the Heath and we take a leisurely run though the Laois and Kildare countryside to our Athy hosts where we park up for a few hours of entertainment in Emily square. A visit to the Heritage Museum is a must (payable locally) . Ernest Shackleton was born in Athy and the museum has many artifacts from the heroic age of exploration. Athy Heritage – Shackleton Museum Athy We depart Athy and head back to our HQ at Treacys the heath for our BBQ finale, music and send offs followed by the lowering of the Gordon Bennett Flag as we close the event.
Entry Fee – Entry fee €135( including National Stud Entry and light lunch for the driver only), no charges apply to passengers but meal options are extra.
PLEASE NOTE ALL ENTRIES CAN ONLY BE MADE ONLINE WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING POSTAL ENTRIES OR ENTRIES ON THE DAY.
ALL VEHICLES MUST BE OF QUALIFYING AGE INCLUDING ANY LAST MINUTE SUBSTITUTION VEHICLES. CLASSIC VEHICLE HIRE IN SUCH AN EVENT CAN BE MADE VIA OUR PARTNER COURTYARD CLASSICS.
